Merje Shaw, MD, Path59

Merje Shaw (pronounced ‘Mer-i-yah’) started her career at Skype in customer support in 2006 when it was a small start-up in Estonia. After four years, inspired by bringing about industry-shifting disruption and seeing first-hand how customer focus can grow and empower an organisation, Merje went on to work for some of London’s leading digital agencies, working on large-scale digital transformation projects for clients such as BT, M&S and the Department for Work and Pensions. In 2012 Merje established Path59 as a freelance vehicle, combining her experience in successful start-ups with large corporation consultancy to bring start-up level disruption and agility to traditional industries. The Shoreditch-based company today provides innovation and UX consultancy to large corporations which require help improving their digital presence. Merje prides herself on the personal touch she can offer clients, which include international charity ActionAid, leader in pest control Rentokil Initial, and British conservation organisation The National Trust. Alongside Path59, earlier this year Merje pursued her passion for urban gardening and Scandi-design by founding Scandiscapes, the UK’s first dedicated online platform for Scandi design-lovers seeking to reconnect with nature through stylish biophilic décor products.
