From 13-17th February 2012, a whole host of social media-related events will take place in London and cities across the globe as part of Social Media Week.
Aimed at social media users and professionals, ranging from engaged consumers through to brands and creative agencies, Social Media Week aims to transform the conventional conference format into a worldwide event that encourages communication and collaboration — whether it’s face-to-face, or via streamed online events. And since it’s free to participate in most of the week’s activities, the event always draws a huge online and offline crowd.
Events this time around focus on the theme of ‘Empowering Change through Collaboration’, looking at the global impact of social media and its role in triggering cultural, political, economic and social change.
Last year’s Social Media Week saw an impressive 110 different events designed by Chinwag and other event partners such as Dell, the Dutch Embassy, the British Library, the BBC, Channel 4, LikeMinds, Viadeo, We Are Social, techMAP and Ogilvy.
The topics covered many relevant industries including music, gaming, mobile, public sector, non-profit, broadcast, museums and galleries, sport, radio, business, recruitment, journalism and theatre.
Fourth Source will be attending events throughout Social Media week, we hope to see you around!
